My stay here had its ups and downs. The location by the beautiful Hokianga Harbour is stunning, and the room truly offered a great view. However, the facilities felt tired and needed some refurbishing. While I enjoyed a drink in the pub, the dining experience didn't quite live up to expectations. Overall, it's a place with character, but it could use some TLC to improve the overall experience.

I had a pleasant experience at this hotel, offering stunning views of the sand dunes and a lovely deck to enjoy meals. While the atmosphere was charming, the tight parking situation meant I felt a bit constrained. Overall, it was a nice place to stop for food, but I've seen better dining options elsewhere.

The location is fantastic, right opposite the wharf with beautiful views of the sand dunes and a pleasant atmosphere.
Dining

The food was reasonably priced and the portion sizes were decent. I particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon fettuccini and seafood chowder which were well-prepared and flavorful.

The hotel has been refurbished and maintains some old world charm, which added to its appeal, although the parking situation was less than ideal.

I had a mixed experience at this resort. The location by Hokianga Harbour was incredible, providing beautiful views right from my room. The atmosphere had a unique charm, but the dining experience left much to be desired, especially for breakfast. While the rooms were clean, they felt a bit tired. I enjoyed the pub for a drink but found the restaurant lacking overall.

This camp spot has a stunning view overlooking the harbor and is conveniently located near shops and restaurants, which I loved. However, the amenities are quite dated, and I had a rather unpleasant experience with the camp owner, which put a damper on my stay. I appreciated the beautiful scenery, but several aspects of my visit left me feeling frustrated.

Rooms

The camping area was okay, but the amenities felt very old and neglected.

While some of the staff were friendly, I had a really uncomfortable interaction with the camp owner who was quite rude.

During my stay at the resort, I appreciated the beautiful harbor views from my balcony, which made my experience quite special. However, the room was compact and a bit cramped, and I had to deal with some flea issues that weren’t ideal. The staff was generally helpful, especially given the busy Easter weekend, but there were moments of disorganization. Overall, the value for the price paid was decent considering the location and views, but the accommodations could use some improvements.

Rooms
5.0
The room was very small and just about big enough for the double bed, but it had a lovely balcony overlooking the beautiful Hokianga harbor. Unfortunately, it was infested with fleas, prompting us to flea bomb and spray the place after finding no other options available in town.
Service
7.0
The service was mostly friendly and helpful, although there were a few times when they seemed a little unorganized, especially upon our arrival.
Location
9.0
The location was fantastic, right on the waterfront with stunning views of the Hokianga harbor, perfect for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of the area.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were basic and average, so while it served the purpose, it wasn't anything particularly special.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were adequate but certainly showed their age. They could benefit from some modernization to enhance the overall experience.
